Get ready to live an unforgettable adventure in Peru, discovering the magic of the Andes, the history of the Incas, and the most impressive natural landscapes of Cusco with Travel Machu Picchu Peru.

Day 1: Cusco – Machu Picchu Tour – Cusco | Visit the Modern Wonder of the World

Our first day of adventure begins with a visit to Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and Peru’s most famous tourist destination. At the previously coordinated time, our team will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco city to begin the journey to the Ollantaytambo train station, traveling by tourist transportation for approximately 2 hours.

From Ollantaytambo, we will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), enjoying impressive views of the Andean landscapes, mountains, rivers, and the transition into the Peruvian cloud forest along the route.

Upon arrival at the train station, our professional guide will be waiting to accompany you on the tourist bus to the entrance of the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

During the journey to the sanctuary, you will appreciate the incredible biodiversity of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, where nature surprises visitors with a great variety of flora and fauna, colorful landscapes, bird sounds, and unique scenery surrounding this ancient Inca construction.

At the entrance of the citadel, you must pass through the access control by presenting the original identification document used to make the Machu Picchu reservation.

Exploring the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu

Finally, we will arrive at the impressive Inca city of Machu Picchu, located at 2,430 meters above sea level, surrounded by mist-covered mountains and incomparable natural beauty. This ancient archaeological site stands out for its perfectly assembled stone architecture and the mysteries that remain preserved among its temples and structures.

During the approximately 2-hour guided tour, we will visit the main attractions of Machu Picchu, including:

• The Temple of the Sun
• The Temple of the Three Windows
• The Royal Enclosures
• The Sacred Solar Clock
• The Temple of the Condor

The main archaeological sectors of the citadel

Each area reflects the incredible architectural and cultural knowledge of the Inca civilization, making this experience an unforgettable journey through Peru’s history.

After the guided visit, you will have free time to enjoy the scenery and have lunch at one of the restaurants available in Machu Picchu Pueblo (lunch not included).

Then, we will return by train to Ollantaytambo according to the assigned schedule (14:55 or 18:20, subject to availability), where our transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 2: Cusco – Cusipata – Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain – Cusco

Very early in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin the excursion to Vinicunca, the famous Seven Colors Mountain, one of the most impressive natural landscapes in the region.

We will travel towards the Collasuyo area, an ancient region of the Inca Empire’s Tawantinsuyo located south of Cusco. After approximately 2 hours of travel, we will arrive at the district of Cusipata, where we will take a short break to rest, purchase drinks or snacks, and prepare for the hike. We will also enjoy a buffet breakfast before continuing our journey.

We will continue by tourist transportation for approximately 1 more hour until reaching the Phulawasipata base camp, the starting point of the hike to the Rainbow Mountain.

The hike takes approximately 2 hours (3.5 km). During the route, we will observe incredible high-Andean landscapes, the impressive Hatun Riti Glacier (4,925 meters above sea level), different species of South American camelids such as alpacas and llamas, as well as beautiful lagoons including Puka Qocha and Qomer Qocha.

Upon reaching the summit of Vinicunca – Rainbow Mountain, we will have enough time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, take photographs, and appreciate this natural formation created by the combination of minerals that produce its characteristic colors.

After this unique experience, we will begin the descent back to the base camp, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then, we will board our transportation to Cusipata to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Finally, at approximately 6:00 p.m., we will return to Cusco city and drop you off at your hotel after an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, nature, and Andean culture.
